As I look back at my peer review experience, I thought it went very well and we all go some very descriptive advice from our peers on how to make our essays stronger. I think it is a good idea to peer review because it gives our classmates the chance to see how others are approaching the argument. I was able to compare my essay to others and I could see what worked with my essay and what I need to change. It is also a great idea to get other people’s input on the essay because a different set of eyes can catch more mistakes. As I looked through my peer’s notes on my essay and after I reread my essay, I noticed I can definitely develop my thesis more. This essay was my free draft so it is just the start, but it was helpful to go back and look at what worked with my essay and what I need to work on. My peers and I noticed that I need to reword my thesis to make sure it makes sense with the topics I discuss in my essay and I need to make sure my body paragraphs are focused on developing my thesis. My goal for this essay is to go back and reword the paragraphs that need to be developed more. By doing this, my essay will grow stronger, and my argument will be more clearer. In order to achieve this goal, I will specifically look at my peer’s comments on the parts that they thought I could improve the most, and then I will try to type a different way of explaining my point. Hopefully by doing this, I can merge the two ideas I have into one developed and clear paragraph. I think my biggest challenge will be word count. This essay’s word count is much less than previous essays, so we do not have as much space to explain our point. As I have previously said, I tend to overwrite so making sure I do not go too far over the word count might be difficult. If I can not cut words and sentences to make my essay shorter, I can go to my peers for help. They have read my essay before and they know the point I am trying to prove. They can help my pick out what topics help develop my point, and what topics are just fluff in my essay.
